Scentsy is Safe! (Report on Candle Fire Safety from FEMA)

SCENTSY is SAFE!

The Holdiays are Here !

Scentsy Safety you should know about and a (Reposted) New Report on Candle Fire Safety from FEMA!

Did you know there are 15,260 (FEMA, 2013) home candle fires each year?

On average, 42 home candle fires are reported every day.More than half of all candle fires start when something that could burn, such as furniture, mattresses or bedding, curtains, or decorations is too close to the candle.

In one-fifth (20%) of candle fires, the candles are unattended or abandoned.Over one-third (36%) of home candle fires begin in the bedroom.Falling asleep is a factor in 12% of home candle fires and 36% of the associated deaths.December is the peak time of year for home candle fires.  In December, 13% of home candle fires begin with decorations compared to 4% the rest of the year.One-half of home candle fire deaths occur between Midnight and 6 am.Young children and older adults have the highest death risk from candle fires. The risk of fatal candle fires appears higher when candles are used for light.

Scentsy products however, are one of the safest alternatives on the market. Scentsy is unique in that it uses a low wattage light bulb to melt specifically formulated wax. Because of the low wattage light used to melt the fragranced wax, there is a method to the madness about how Scentsy works. It is designed to slowly melt the wax which is similar to a time release of fragrance being entered into the environment where you have placed your Scentsy Warmer or Plug-in.

With Scentsy warmers and plug-ins you never have to worry about accidentally leaving a candle lit when you go to bed or leave your home. No worries about placing a Scentsy warmer or plug-in close to anything combustible. And, the worst that could ever happen if one is accidentally knocked over is some spilled wax or perhaps the the warmer breaking. Surely nothing to start a fire in your home or office.

To put it in laymen's terms; Scentsy warmers and plug-ins are as safe as a lamp. You can leave them on all day and nothing happens. They'll never get hot enough to even burn your skin. It's not designed that way. Scentsy Warmers and Plug-ins do not "burn" wax into the air, but the fragrance is! There is no residue like candles and other burners because of the wax Scentsy uses; the wax stays in the dish. This also means there is no risk of carcinogens or chemicals being released into the air which end up in your lungs or on your home furnishings.

CASE IN POINT: Why take the risk, along with the expenses of candles, when you have a safer alternative with the same results and less expensive, however, without the dangers of candle use?

Scentsy's slogan: "Scentsy Makes Perfect Scents"! There is meaning behind that slogan and we stand by it with our vast array of over 130 warmers and plug-in designs to choose from and over 80 different fragrances!
