However, our greatest concerns are the safety issues, and we continue now with spilled wax burns. 

The latest controversy has been with candle, lanterns that burn candle wax and other warmer burns caused by the melted wax spilling over onto the skin.

Below is a graphic photo that may not be suitable for all viewers and is intended to show the worst case scenario in what melted wax can do and what Scentsy Warmer melted wax WON’T do!  The burns to this child in the picture below was recently in the news and was caused by spilled wax from a Chinese lantern that burns paraffin wax.

Scentsy has four sizes of warmers, Premium, Deluxe,  Elementand Plug-ins. They operate on 25, 20 and 15 watt bulbs.

Higher wattage bulbs are not recommended, invalidate the lifetime guarantee, and are extremely dangerous as they can cause the wax to melt at much higher temperatures that could lead to sever burns on the skin.(See "Can I use a "higher wattage" bulb in my Scentsy Warmer" October 3, 2013 blog-post)

With the Scentsy Warmer meeting its own safety requirements, the low-wattage bulbs were perfectly selected to melt the scented Scent Bar cubes slowly without high heat to the wax, and the wax is designed that once it reaches its reduced melting point that the temperature just barely gets above skin temperatures. 

So and in conclusion, the risk of burning from spilled wax is less likely to occur. I have personally tested what I've researched and my actual experience with my own Scentsy Warmers and have found that hot wax from candles, lanterns and the competitor's warmers can burn to the touch of the skin, however, with Scentsy Warmers, I've felt the wax, after the low-wattage bulb had dissolved the solid cube to a liquid and it was as warm as warm water running under a tap you've adjusted, for example, so you could safely put your hands in it to wash dishes..
